What exactly are the Cadets responsible for within the various companies?
Alpha,Bravo, Charlie all the way to Hotel. It seems as though each company has different duties. For instance Alpha seems to have everything athletic, Golf has something called Laundry? Echo is transportation.
Any insight?

When is the soonest that members of the class of 2015 can find out which company they will be in during swab summer? I have seen that we will receive a letter about 2 weeks prior to reporting-in day that will tell us when to report to Leamy Hall, which I know is determined by what company we will be in, but is it possible to find out sooner?
 
Nope, you'll just have to wait it out. As I remember, we found out a couple weeks before R-day what company we would be in for Swab Summer.

Where can I found out exactly what the companies are responsible for. It would seem that athletes are in alpha, character development in Charlie etc. I am most interested in Golf...laundry?maintenance? Is assignments random or is it specific to your major and or GPA. Do you get reassigned during your academy years or is that it for the next 3.

Each company has its share of athletes. The football QB can be in Hotel Co just as he can be in Echo Co.

Don't get the idea that Golf Co is doing everyone's laundry, nor are they walking around with a toolbox fixing door hinges or repairing light fixtures. :wink:

You will be in 1 company during Swab Summer, then a new company for your 4/c year, then one more for the rest of your time at the academy.

Assignment is random, except that swab summer companies (and thus Eagle sailing dates) may be affected by fall athletic schedules and many "fall sport" athletes are placed in A/B/C so they can return from Eagle before practice starts.
 
What the different companies are responsible for does not determine who goes to that company. Case in point, I am in Alfa right now as a fourth class and I am not a Division 3 athlete. They try to balance the companies out in every area, athletics, academic capability, and military performance. That way not one company is the favorite for Honor Company. Right now all of the future 3/c are learning about the new companies they will be in for the rest of their cadet career. I got Hotel :thumb:
