Good evening, I have a question about what "Complete & on hold" means. I had my eye exam and physical exam on Feb. 16. On Feb. 19, my status changed to "Complete & on hold". It says that there were errors in my examination records, but that no further action is required by me. Is this usually because the doctor did not do a full exam, or because they did not fill out the paperwork correctly?

I believe there could be multiple answers to what you’re looking for. It could be an exam was sent incomplete or an error in the exam itself that the team spotted. The same thing happened to me and I received an email a few days later that I had to go back to the doctors to remeasure my height sitting down since they did it incorrectly ...if there is something you need to do they will be sure to email you. Just keep an eye out for possible emails in the next few days if your status stays the same.

Jzep03 - Usually the latter and usually thy just missed completing a block or two :wiggle:

It's been nearly three weeks, and nothing has changed on my account. I am still stuck at complete and hold. Is there ever any extra steps needed to be taken by the applicant, or will they eventually resolve it themselves?

My DS is now in the same boat - "Complete & on hold". How long should he patiently wait for this to be resolved until he reaches out to seek help moving it along?

Side note: As a practitioner with extensive experience in EHR GUI design and usability (my wife who is an APRN agrees)- given the design of the forms, provider schedules/availability after completion of the forms, we can see why a provider might make an error, miss a box, and be slow (if ever) to respond to DoDMERB after the appt. As a Veteran (and I guess even as a tax payer :)), I can relate though to federal-type forms and the "they are what they are" mentality.

Mine is still at complete and hold and it has been for 4 weeks, I reached out for help after 2 weeks. Mr Mullen and his team have been very helpful, if only the doctors office was as helpful in responding to their request for more information.. They left out a lot of information. My mom is a nurse and went to the physical with me, before we knew the paperwork was not filled out completely she questioned how rushed and incomplete the exam was to begin with.

Sorry to hear that. Fortunately both examiners for DS filed the paper work immediately/completely through some sort of electronic filing. Perhaps DoDmets (or DoDmerb?) should enforce/deploy a unified on-line filing system that does automatic field/data validation to prevent missing/erroneous entries.

Sorry to hear, I hope this is resolved for you sooner than later (and for my DS). Would Mr. Mullen and his team disclose what information was missing, or are you permitted to reach out to the provider and ask them (or their practice administrator) to please complete the info? I also attended my DS medical/audiology exam (the clinic indicated that my attendance was required because he was a minor), and I didn't get the impression that it was rushed. These exams were with the Concorde contracted provider, an industrial/occupational medicine clinic, and they did promptly return the initial examination records to DoDMETS Civ Team. I did not attend the eye exam, but DS felt it was adequate and they also promptly returned the examination records to DoDMETS Civ Team.

Squeaky wheel. Ask, ask and ask again. Don’t stop bugging everyone and anyone in the Dr office. This is critical! My DS had a clerical error which resulted in a Medically DQ. It took weeks to resolve - after constant calls which led to a formal complaint, and FINALLY somebody listened.
good luck!

My mom also attended because I am a minor. They submitted the initial paperwork quickly. I have called the office multiple times to follow up on them resubmitting the corrected paperwork. . At first they said they were not informed of any issues. I eventually talked to someone who wrote down what I was told was missing. However it still has not been resubmitted. I want to keep following up but I also don’t want to be a nuisance and I’m not sure the CIV team wants us following up with them. @MullenLE is it ok to follow up with the office that did the initial exam or do we just need to be patient? Thank you again for your help!
