You don’t. And I think you mean “appointment” off your MOC slate. There are no doubt candidates who have been in the justly infamous CPR limbo since last fall.

There are a few weeks to go before USNA’s target date of letting most people know a decision. They are busy resolving slates, figuring out which fully qualified applicant will get an appointment charged to the MOC, and if they want other fully qualified candidates off the slate which they will charge to other nom authorities they manage.

Think about the magnitude of the slate resolution challenge. All the Senators, hundreds of Representatives - now, not all submit slates or even full slates of 10 noms for each available seat they want to fill this cycle. That is still a staggering amount of candidates to sift through, all the while tending the other “nom buckets” - Presidential, service-related, etc., plus keeping an eye on NAPSters and sponsored preps. I am sure you don’t want them to rush. It’s an intentional, thoughtful, complex process with parallel and intersecting elements, with hard decisions at every juncture. The stark truth is there will ALWAYS be more stellar fully qualified candidates than there are seats in the class.

Fill your mind with things you can control.

I don’t know if this is possible for you, but I have communicated with our Congressman’s aide who has been very gracious with telling me what she knows. I’ve only reached out twice in 3 months because I know she’s very busy, and I won’t be reaching out again as now it’s just waiting until 4/15. But she did share with me (about a week ago) that there are no pending offers of appointment on the slate my DS is on. However, even if she said someone has been appointed on his slate, it still doesn’t mean my DS is out of the game. It doesn’t change anything either way, just satisfied my curiosity 😀 good luck to you!

At our house, when the kids are not at spring sport practices/games or work, we are playing lots of games! Most recent Herd Mentality! We are having a ton of fun together and trying to forget that next fall DD and her twin sister will be at college and we will be alone😩

I of course can't tell you not to contact your Congressman....but I can tell you it isn't going to help. Once the Congressman submits his nominations, their role in the process is over unless he/she choses to be the one notifying the Candidate. (As a courtesy, USNA gives MOC's the opportunity to call the Candidates and let them know of the appointment before it is posted in the portal, some MOC take advantage of this opportunity, others don't). Bottom line, the Congressional Aide doesn't know anything you don't.

On the flip side..if the Congressional Aide picks up the phone and asks about someone's status ...what do you think Admission's thinks ? There is a reason that Admissions puts out the April 15 date ...be patient !
 
This one gets me every single time.

For those moms and dads who are stressed and anxious. Take a look at the video I linked above, (spoiler, get a box of kleenex first). Imagine no portal, no internet, no computer. Just snail mail.

No chance to live second to second in a permanent state of anxiety and fret over the dream your kiddo has, and the fear you have that their heart may fracture a bit if their dream doesn't come true this time.

My grandfather and my dad got their news via snail mail. Just like the opener in the video. What a magical experience. Maybe, just maybe it might be a good thing to stay out of portals for a while. Be 100% present. Regardless of the outcome this cycle, life as you know it as a parent will make a major shift in the months to come.

As @ders_dad said, if their dream is realized, it only gets harder from that point. For them, and for the parents. I'm a 2/C mom and I can promise you the awesome roller coaster ride just ramps up in different ways. And that won't change as they transition out into the fleet as @Just Dad and @justdoit19 can confirm. Highs and lows to come for anyone who chooses this path.
 
Just wondering if anyone knows of anyone with similar scores and rankings to my DS. We are still waiting to hear. He had one nomination to USMA and one to USNA. Preference is USNA. 1400 SAT 3.56 GPA top 30%. 4 years JROTC no organized sports but martial arts. Worked for two years during school and was promoted to shift lead and also in JROTC.
