You don’t. And I think you mean “appointment” off your MOC slate. There are no doubt candidates who have been in the justly infamous CPR limbo since last fall. How do I know that Im not competing against my slate anymore and I am in the national pool? I am starting to think that since I am still CPR, I have not won a nomination off of my MOC slate.
I am having the exact same thoughts. How do I know that Im not competing against my slate anymore and I am in the national pool? I am starting to think that since I am still CPR, I have not won a nomination off of my MOC slate.
I don’t know if this is possible for you, but I have communicated with our Congressman’s aide who has been very gracious with telling me what she knows. I’ve only reached out twice in 3 months because I know she’s very busy, and I won’t be reaching out again as now it’s just waiting until 4/15. But she did share with me (about a week ago) that there are no pending offers of appointment on the slate my DS is on. However, even if she said someone has been appointed on his slate, it still doesn’t mean my DS is out of the game. It doesn’t change anything either way, just satisfied my curiosityHow do I know that Im not competing against my slate anymore and I am in the national pool? I am starting to think that since I am still CPR, I have not won a nomination off of my MOC slate.
At our house, when the kids are not at spring sport practices/games or work, we are playing lots of games! Most recent Herd Mentality! We are having a ton of fun together and trying to forget that next fall DD and her twin sister will be at college and we will be aloneI keep making another cup of coffee thinking it will help. Spoiler alert: it does not.![]()
I of course can't tell you not to contact your Congressman....but I can tell you it isn't going to help. Once the Congressman submits his nominations, their role in the process is over unless he/she choses to be the one notifying the Candidate. (As a courtesy, USNA gives MOC's the opportunity to call the Candidates and let them know of the appointment before it is posted in the portal, some MOC take advantage of this opportunity, others don't). Bottom line, the Congressional Aide doesn't know anything you don't.I don’t know if this is possible for you, but I have communicated with our Congressman’s aide who has been very gracious with telling me what she knows
This one gets me every single time.
A little Freudian slip with “thirst times.”Thirst times are exactly the right moment to browse and contribute to the Bacon or Cocktail or Book or Pet threads.
Thank you so much IronmanDaremo. My DS received a call from the senator's office this evening. He is in USNA 2027. What a relief! So grateful for everyone's thoughts and perspectives. What a great bunch we have on this forum. Best wishes to everyone waiting!Appointment within a few days more than likely. Congrats!!
