My son attended AIM and we met one of the parents during the last day. I have kept in touch with them and they have just emailed me to tell me that their daughter has recieved a conditional appointment. She needs to take care of some minor medical issue but the letter congratulated her in receiving an appointment. It came in a business sized envelope. Not the big certified envelopes everybody has been talking about. Looks like they have started to go out. They sent in all there information around October 28, 2008. Can't be long now before we all start hearing one way or another.

I also recieved a conditional appointment today. Get ready, the letters are on the way

What cities are those who've received letters in? Also, did any of

those who received letters get a phone call from CAPT Brown?

And so the freak out begins and the rumor mill goes into full swing. I remember tracking this boards every day from around this time until Dec 15th. Felt like forever and a day. Now, once again, I can't wait for the 15th... because that means Christmas leave is only 2 days away haha. Best of luck to you all and congratulations to others.

Edit: 2013'ers... notice I'm up at nearly 4 in the morning. While I haven't been up this late doing work in a while, it's not all that unusual. Just throwing that out there.

zachogden - hope you got some sleep before class today! This mama was up all

night with a 4 yr old with asthma. I feel lousy. I used to pull all-nighters in college, too, but only when absolutely necessary. It is too rough on the system.

Have a good day and thanks for monitoring this site and taking time to answer our questions here.

Certified? I don't think anyone has said they come that way.

My guess is when she fulfills "the condition" of the conditional appointment (in this case, DODMBERB) the large appointment envelope will arrive. :thumb:

It will have more than just a letter in it.

You should be packing and getting ready to head for the airport!

Enjoy the break, make sure you're back by 2200 on 30 Nov! :thumb:

Tues LMO - Sun, JAM. Technically Wed-Sun though.

And Luigi... coincidentally, I just finished packing a moment ago. I'm on the 4:00 bus to PVD and I'll be laying on my couch by 9! Looking forward to it.

It's nice you can leave early and beat the traveling nightmares -
my plebe (USMA) can't leave until 11:50 tomorrow and formation is 19:00 Sunday.

I am just complainin' - enjoy!!

Yes, those who received letters, what areas do you live in? And, did any of you attend the "Cadet for a day" a few weeks ago? Were you surprised to receive your letters or did you have a idea you might be selected based on anything in particular such as grades, athletics, type of program you were in, etc... Does anyone know if your not selected if rejection letters are sent at same time acceptance letters go out? Any info and experience one has to offer to those waiting.....please share!

I'm live on a farm in NW Iowa. I was not able to attend AIM because I was recovering from a shoulder operation (football injury). I was surprised to get the letter, but I did feel as if I was very qualified for an appointment. Now I am very interested in attending a "Cadet for a Day" visit. Anyone have any experience with that type of a visit?

If i got a letter from DODMERB saying i had to re-do a test does that mean i would get a conditional appointment if i get in?

Until you are qualified by DODMERB, or the USCGA gives you a waiver, you cannot receive a full appointment.

Good Luck! :thumb:

ok thanks. i hope i at least get something anyway ha.
