I received an email today notifying me of a change in my application status. I checked the application portal, and my status is listed as: "Conditional Offer of Appointment LOA" and my required actions are listed as "Obtain a Nomination". I have already had congressional nomination interviews with the committees of my two senators, and I have an interview with the committee of my congressman this weekend. How, if at all, should I notify the offices of my two senators with which I have already interviewed? In addition, how, if at all, should I bring this up in my interview this weekend.

PS. I am not a recruited athlete. Message me if you would like to know my GPA, SAT/ACT, etc.

Congrats on the LOA. Unable to private message (lack requisite # of posts) -- would be great and super helpful if you could provide high level stats for folks on this forum/thread.

Congrats! I also have my congressional interview this weekend. What kind of questions did they ask during your interview with the senators committee? Btw what state are you from?

I am from Georgia.
I was asked the typical questions about why I want to attend a service academy and why I chose USNA over the others. I was asked to explain why I think I am more qualified than other candidates and why I think I can meet the demands of the Academy. I was also asked about a time when I was presented with a problem and I stepped up and assumed a leadership role to solve it. I was somewhat blindsided by this one, but they asked me to think back to a book I've read recently and describe what it taught me and how I've used those lessons in my life. Overall, practice speaking to adults that are complete strangers to you. You have earned the right to be interviewed, so speak confidently about your accomplishments. If you have the opportunity, set up a mock panel interview.

I'm from California. My interview is this weekend as well.

You can contact the academy coordinator for the MOCs you interviewed with and politely let them know you were just informed you received an LOA and if they have not submitted slates yet, if you could send in a copy of your LOA for your packet. Congrats on the LOA.

I actually ask a version of the book question in job interviews. I have sat on a few MOC boards and have asked this question too. Allows me to get to know the candidate a little, See them out together an answer on the spot and it’s a chance for them to tell me something about themselves and how they work.
