Our cadet is a freshman. Is there anything about the "40 days" mark that would explain why he hasn't called or emailed us since last week? He always makes some kind of contact over the weekend, so this is a first for him.
 
I can't say for sure what caused the lapse in communication, but I will say that it isn't unusual. The cadets are one month into a new semester and are probably very busy.
Be prepared for this to happen more and more frequently as they progress through the Academy. There are times we don't hear from our cadet for weeks, other than a quick text message if he needs something.

Manyof the squadrons restricted 4* for the weekend. I know the daughters were awakend basic style on Saturday morning and trained hard for the first time in awhile. It will get tougher for them over the next 38 days until reccognition.
 
Some will bring it on themselves...

Got text from my 4 Dig today.

5AM they "captured" the cadet wing commander, dressed him in Captain America costume, tied him to pole outside Mitchell Hall while the cadet wing walked to breakfast and "All Star" was playing on the loud speakers.

They can make it harder, but they can't make it longer

Yeah, the music on the way to breakfast was pretty great, as well as watching honor guard have to wait for the "Star Wars" theme song to stop before raising the flag.
