Congrats to the US Womens Soccer Team-World Champions!

They had an amazing tournament!

If you want to see how a center back pairing should work (women OR men), just look at Sauerbrunn and Johnston. Wow. Taking nothing away from Hope Solo, these two were the reason she came so close to the shutout record.

The goals in the final were great of course, Lloyd's energizer bunny impersonation and Holiday's full-volley on the run (!), but for me watching the way they defended throughout the tournament was nothing short of amazing.
 
Don't know much about soccer, but definitely liked the defense. They did make Hope Solo's job much easier. There is news on the radio about the possibility of a ticker tape parade in NYC for the team.

Well Johnston was the first reason it wasn't a shutout…. hahaha….. but how much can you fault someone for a deflection….
 
I have never seen a goal scored in World Cup from the midline like Carli's amazing kick.....truly a goal keeper's nightmare!
