congress nomination confusion

I am confused on the congress nomination process. I just received a letter, this week, informing me that I have received a congressional nomination and it has been added to my file. Does that mean that I was chosen as the principal nomination.

No it doesn't. I believe those who receive a principal nomination will be told if they did. However, I may be mistaken. Contact your representative's nomination entity and ask.
