My two senators and local representative offer letters of recommendation for CGA; would this be worth the time of interview, essay, and application? Additional, I have only talked to my guidance counselor twice so not sure what she's going to say...

Are you planning on applying to any of the other SAs? If so, then there may not be significant amount of incremental effort on your part to have the these LoRs generated.

Also remember that while guidance counselors are valuable sources of guidance and information, this is your plan... all SA applications takes time, focus, and energy - you will need to assess if you are willing to go "all in" and make the investments necessary for this venture.

Thank you for your willingness to serve, good luck.

Paper letters of recommendation are not accepted at USCGA. Any LORs must be submitted electronically via their portal.

Only after you submit the 4 REQUIRED letters of recommendation (Guidance counselor, English teacher, Math teacher, coach/PE teacher) can you add 2 more additional OPTIONAL people. Keep in mind since they are optional, your record may be reviewed before they are even viewed and may play no part at all in your application for appointment.

LORs are expected to be from people who know you. You say you have only spoken to your guidance counselor twice--how many times have you spoken to your two senators and US representative?
