Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm a little bit new to this whole process. I'm currently looking at the Air Force Academy and Naval Academy for the Class of 2018. On the website of my district Representative, there is a application and on it it says has all the service academies and list your preference. I only want to attend either USAFA or USNA, so do I only put 1 and 2 and can I get a nomination to both from the same Representative! Thanks!

You can get a nomination for both. My son received one from our MOC for both the USAFA and USNA.

Although you can get more than one, many MOCs (Members of Congress) will limit your nominations to only one. You should try to decide which SA you prefer and put that one first. Don't forget to also apply to both US Senators and the VP.

+1 to aglages. Many MOCs only give an appointment to one academy. You would have to ask the MOC's office what their procedure is. They can change it at any time (although most don't).

I agree with both posters above! However, it doesn't hurt to list both, as the nominating source can't nominate you if you don't ask for it! And depending on how competitive your state/district is it may be possible to get nominated to both, which will only increase your chances!

From my experience, my one senator that would only give a nomination to one SA had on his application to only put down the one SA you would want a nom from. All of my other nominating sources had me list the SA's I wanted in order, like yours, and they would nominate to several sources. Last year I was nominated to Air Force, Navy, and West Point, all from the same MOC. Of course, you should ask their offices, but since they do ask you to make a list it looks promising.
