I have just received an LOA from the Academy. I am wondering if I need to do anything and contact my Congressman to let them know of this, and if it will help me obtaining a nomination from them.

Also, do all Candidates take part in the visitation program? Or should I plan separately to visit the Academy? Thanks! Beat Army!

I would have to say it depends on the congressman, but I don't know how it couldn't help you, because that pretty much ensures them their nomination will be used.

And no not everyone goes or is even offered a visit weekend but I would recommend it if you can afford it.

Don't they also reimburse you for travel expenses when you go to these anyways?

USNA notifies your MOCs of your LOA. I'm not sure if the other SAs do. To the best of my knowledge, CVWs must be paid for by the candidate, other than perhaps NCAA "official visits." Not all well-qualified candidates are offered CVWs b/c there simply is not enough time/room. If you are offered one and can financially afford to attend, you should do so.

Thank you. This answered my questions. This site was a great idea to have. It really helps. Go NAVY!
