Hi all, NC has some congressional redistricting for the 2020 primary and general election due to gerrymandering and we fall into a redistricted area. Does my son apply for a nomination with the current or the new district? Are we considered part of the current district until the the new MOC are sworn in in January? I plan to have my son send an email to the MOC this week but thought I might get a quicker answer here. Thanks

Email/call both congressional offices stating your concern and ask what they suggest. I would say apply to whichever district you're in as of January 2021 (I don't know when the districts lines would change—now or in the new year) because that's when the slates are sent to the academies.

My DS ran into the same situation in our state. He applied to the Congressman in the fall. The interviews in our area take place in December. Nominations are due to the academies by end of January. If you wait until the new Congressman is in office, there will not be time to complete the process.

My plebe went through the same situation. The rule is to apply to your current MOC at the time of the application. This happens often.
