Are you supposed to contact your RC, and how frequently? I am considering writing to introduce myself, but I'd imagine they are busy and don't want it to seem like I'm pestering him. Are you supposed to interact with them, and what are they like? I am from the Northeast, so if anyone has communicated with theirs and can share any tips, that would be very helpful.

I’m from a different region but I can tell you that it is important to get your RC and your FFR to know you. My FFR knowing me helped a lot and I believe that he help my RC know more about me. Getting to know these two people I’m my opinion can make a big difference. I always asked questions to my FFR and if he couldn’t answer it I would ask my RC next. Around the time I was complete with my application, minus transcripts, I did send an email to my RC asking “what else can I do”. There I got more advice and also showed that I didn’t want to be complacent.

2025Hopeful - a resounding YES!! Usmaismygoal is spot on - both your RC and your FFR. Don’t be a pest, but definitely establish a relationship

I made myself known with my RC... but, I did not email him monthly. I emailed him about 4-5 times my whole process. The last two times were him reaching out to me about my interest in Preparatory School. With this, I did receive an offer to Prep. For your field force officer you may have a congressional district coordinator and/or a state coordinator. I contacted my state coordinator here and there but not much. I saw her at events though. But, I had never contacted my congressional district coordinator till november time after I met him in person through my nomination interview. I keep him updated a lot. Especially towards the end. of the process. I just received my appointment to USMAPS this week and since January 31st... I have given him weekly updates(for the most part). Also, if you email your RC, be short and to the point.

Hey, check out this post I made awhile back:

I'm from the Northeast as well, if it means anything.

Emailing your RC is through the contact me section correct? Previously in the process I only emailed him a couple of times for issues with my application and he always seemed... short... with me and one time Im assuming he thought I emailed him twice because he replied to my email twice saying yes then YES. Im honestly wondering if that hurt my chances, I was always respectful and to the point with the few emails I sent so it all just left me very confused.

I actually had two RCs during my process and I didn't hit it off with my first one. I had technical trouble with my SLE application and I sent him a email. He never responded, and then I call him and he said he saw my email and still did not give me advice or redirected me. Luckily, I reached out to someone else and they were incredibly helpful. It is okay to have uncertainty with your RC. They have a lot of candidates to email and are usually short and to the point. Nothing against you. Here is the link to find your RC, and then email the email address directly.

Click on your State and contact the Regional Commander through the email or phone number provided. Be patient. My RC took about a few days to a week to respond to my email which is reasonable. But once a week and a half goes by, follow up if question is still relevant.

I have never used "Contact Us" unless it was technical trouble. I always used the email directly. So, they would have my email too.

Good luck! Do not overthink what they say back. You are doing just fine:)

Thank you so much, sorry the nerves are really getting to me since they haven't let me know about my status or anything and it is so late in the process.
I just found out exactly a week ago that I got USMAPS '21. They thanked me for turning my application materials in early and I still got it this late. NO news is no news. If you have not received the TWE, you are still in consideration. Just know, you made it this far and was not turned down yet. I never received a 3Q letter as well. Just wait. Make sure you are continuing with Plan B and C. I had a solid and awesome Plan B. I thought it was where I would be going. Things change ahah. You could reach out and ask about your status, but be careful how you word it and be short and sweet with it.

MJ Jim is very helpful. I have contacted him throughout my admissions process and he is more than willing to help. They are there to help you so if there are any questions you should ask him.
Good Luck!

Thank you for this information, where would I be able to find his phone number or email?

Also try your District Coordinator Field Force Officer in the liasons tab of your portal. Mine was my number one contact and they would know/can find out your status.
