Cookie Cafe

Cookie Cafe needs the support of all us parents! :) It's a great thing for our students!

Who can attend Cookie Cafe?

Cookie Cafe will start on September 16th. Every student can attend as long as they don't have classes or obligations. The plebe candidates need to sign where they will be, but other than that they are free to come over to Land Hall on Thursday afternoons.

Do our PC get to visit the cookie cafe?

Absolutely! Cookie cafe helped keep our DD sane during Plebe year. She is really excited to have Thursday afternoon open again this tri. Cookie cafe, here she comes!

Cookie Cafe welcomes your DD and every other Mid who loves memories of home and great cookies! We will be doing everything in our power to keep the Cafe doors open all year.

Thank you, parents, for your outstanding support!

My poor DS has classes ALL day long on Thursday. I guess I will just have to send him his special cookies through the mail and some to the Cookie Cafe.

There are ways to get cookies to your DS! Can he stop by or ask a room mate or friend to pick some up for him. Carol has been doing that all along for the kids who can't make it to Cookie Cafe. That's what ziploc bags are for!

DD had the same problem last tri. She and one of her friends in her section would stop by Cookie Cafe and pick up cookies for the entire section. They will find ways to get their cookies! :thumb:

physical name/address

Please consider making a donation and when your state sponsors a thursday cookie cafe, send 10 dozen cookies . The wonderful people at cookie cafe make up name tags of which parents/mid sent the cookies. My DS will be gone at sea for our state's cookie cafes but our family will still be sending cookies. It is that important.

Just wanted to say that I have the physical address and name for a cookie cafe donation if you would like to mail a check. Please just pm me or some of the others on this link.

A midshipman who has classes all Thursday

I want to underline what MrsTweedy wrote. We have lots of plastic bags, all sizes--sandwich, quart, and galloon size. The roommates just ask for a bag and fill it. We want every student happy and enjoying cookies.

If you run into any other problems just let us know. We are there to please the students and we will take care of every need. If a student is lonesome for a certain cookie, they can tell us. We will bake it for the next week, and they will find it sitting there on the counter.

Cookie Cafe is for building morale. We do our best to take care of any requests.

First Cookie Cafe of this year!!

First Cookie Cafe this year. What a success. We had 521 midshipmen out Thursday afternoon. They ate 230 dozen cookies with only 6 left over at the end of the day. The new parents who came to help said they had no idea how wonderful it is to be there to help and watch the smiles on the mids faces. A couple, who have a senior at KP, made all the cookies this time then drove from Houston with the cookies!!!

One new coach came because he said that for 2 weeks he has been hearing all about Cookie Cafe. As he sat down with students then came back to fill his plate the second time, he smiled at me and said "Now I know why they love Cookie Cafe".

Cookie Cafe was started to show love to the students. I believe we and all you parents are achieving our goal based on the wonderful smiles the students have. Thank you for caring. www.kpcookiecafe.com

CookieMom- Thanks you for your efforts- my DS said it was delicious....! I was his first experience at cookie cafe'.

My DS said the same, he enjoyed the cookie cafe and a chance to talk to other midshipmen. Sept. 30 next one. Thanks for keeping it going.:thumb:

Cookie Cafe Sept. 23rd

Glad to hear the mids enjoyed the first Cookie Cafe of the year! There WILL be a Cookie Cafe on Sept. 23rd sponsored by the Southern Virginia group. Sept. 30 is sponsored by the Tri State Parent Association. Many of the CC dates have already been scheduled. :thumb: (Exceptions for when there is no CC-Week of finals and holidays.) Thanks to ALL that make this such a success.

Just to add another review, in the words of our DS "Oh my God, Cookie Cafe ROCKS!!!". It was his first visit and he didn't realize it happens just about every week. What a happy boy when he found out he can go weekly!!

Kudos to all the parents and friends of KP who make it happen! You do ROCK!!!!!
