I asked this same thing to the USNA thread but I wanted to ask Mr. Mullen if there is a DODMERB policy on what to do if a candidate contracted the virus. Would it medically disqualify someone if they got it before induction? Are there any plans to test people on I-Day? I'm now seeing more cases pop up in my area and I want to know if it would impact my career at USNA if I somehow got it. (I have already accepted my offer of appointment, but this could apply to individuals who are also candidates)

Yes

*******For everyone: if the collective we haven’t figured this out yet, this will probably go down as one of the most fluid “non-war related” national scenarios we have seen in my lifetime.... and I’m old!! 🤪

Whether it merits that or not, is up to each individual to decide for themselves AND will be judged AFTER this event is over or at least subsided.

Gabby1723 has asked excellent questions!!!

An answer NOW at 4:37 PM MDT on Friday 13 March (of course Friday the 13th😱) may be the 100% correct answer...and may be passé @ 4:38 MDT Friday 13 March or sometime hereafter.

So excellent questions to be sure, but answers to what will happen in this specific COVID-19 scenario and all associated manifestations, would be an academic exercise unworthy of people’s time.

Therefore, as time marches on and policies/actions are executed from the DoDMERB perspective, I will keep you all informed. THAT, is the only FACT you can count on regarding THIS specific issue😷
