I am a class of 2025 candidate and have a scheduled visit to West Point next week- as my spring break starts next Monday. All of a sudden my parents and myself are wondering if the trip is going to be able to happen in relation to how the coronavirus has blown up in New York. We are calling the Academy tomorrow to clarify these concerns but I wanted to get some insight from any possible current cadets or parents who have DS's or DD's at the academy right now on how West Point is dealing with it all?

Our Cadets are on Spring Break. Classes scheduled to begin next Monday, but we are monitoring the situation. As of now, WP has not indicated any significant changes although some indication they may not have classes Monday. Definitely a fluid situation and you may not get perfect information when you call.

If you have coordinated with Admissions and are scheduled to visit and take an admissions tour, IF there are any changes they will likely contact YOU and advise you or those changes and reschedule. JMHO, but speculation by anyone on here except LtGen Williams, or someone in direct contract with him means nada. the Sup and his staff (including medical) will initiate any changes and those changes will come out via TAC Teams to cadets, and Admissions to prospective candidates. For @fordpitts12, make your calls and see what they tell you. If they or you and your parents have any doubts or concerns try to reschedule. Only those in positions involved at the Academy have the answers you are looking for. Good luck, and hopefully you will get to make your scheduled visit..:)

I have concerns too. My DS has an overnight visit the first of April and I fear that it will get cancelled. He is waiting until the overnight to make his final decision.
