Has anyone else heard anything about the funding being reduced. What schools/units have already been notified?

I believe all programs are affected and have to reduce Cortramid. In very "unofficial discussion" with current NROTC students, NROTC unit asked for volunteers to skip Cortramid. All will attend at least once, however it may not be every summer. Attending may come down to grades/pt and other ec's. Again unofficial discussion. I am sure others have more concrete information.

Yes, funding has been reduced and some units asked for volunteers to skip, some had to tell folks they couldn't go. Anecdotal report from my son's school and a related discussion on NavyForMoms.com appears to be pretty much across the board. I know of at least two Mids who were told that they could not go unless they passed the spring PRT. I know of one Marine option who didn't get a slot.

my daughter finally got word this past friday that she was going on Cortramid. She wasn't clear on what the number was that needed to be cut, but a number of kids were told they weren't going, some were know DOR, so were nurse options.
A few volunteered not to go, summer jobs and such.

Just wondering, do Officer Candidates also attend, despite having been in the fleet?

I think they probably do, there is one in my sons unit. He has heard nothing at FSU about anyone not going, possibly enough already dropped out so there is enough funds for the remaining mids.

so after all the worry about not getting to go to CORTRAMID, daughter called to say she might (most likely) not go so she can stay home and get her Calc II done.

gbo3, that sucks, but at least she will be doing something worthwhile...always good to get ahead on work. :(
