Courses when reapplying

Right now I'm registering for classes at the college I will be attending while I reapply to USNA. The Academic Plan for my major has calculus and English but doesn't have chemistry. So if I am reapplying, should I just stick with the Academic Plan or fit chemistry in there?

Take chemistry if at all possible. If not possible, Physics is another good option. If both are impossible, look for a solid math/science course such as statistics or biology.

The courses I would be taking if I went with the Academic Plan are Fundamental Engineering Operations, Graphics, Composition, Nautical Science, Personal Development, Ocean Survival, USCG Fire Fighting (not sure why?), and Technical Calculus I. With this type of schedule would it hurt in admissions to not take a Chemistry class? If it helps, my high school academics are strong (W:4.1, UW:~3.9) and I will be taking Technical Physics I my second semester.

If Fundamental Engineering Ops is real engineering, that's good.

Personal Development? What's that?

I don't think USNA would consider Ocean Survival and Fire Fighting as real "academic" courses. Certainly worthwhile activities but not sure how they work as academics.

Composition is good.

Not sure what "Graphics" is as an academic course. Natural Science is better than no science.

Your second semester won't really matter for admissions purposes. I'd still recommend Chemistry but only you know what's possible at your school.

Personal Development is a leadership course.

Ocean Survival is a required PE course. I think Fire Fighting is a requirement for their licensing program and part of my major.

Graphics is part of engineering. It has to do with the tools and applications related to engineering programs. Also it's Nautical Science. From what I gather it has to do with necessary knowledge for being out at sea.

My whole issue with the chemistry is it is never a requirement for my major so I really didn't know what to do in that case.
