COVID-19 PERSONAL BRAG SHEET

@Capt MJ for gentlemen, in terms of difficulty when it comes to cutting our own hair, we're clearly a jump from the 1 meter board at best.. for the majority of the ladies it's probably more of an Inward 1½ Somersault with a Twist from the 10 meter platform for sure..

cut my own hair today.. any others here brave enough to give that a shot? desperate times call for desperate measures.. 😬

Depends on if you are male or female and/or long or short hair. There are definite advantages here depending on the answer. I can do all my boys’ hair.

I have short hair, finally had had to do my own (I had an appointment for an overdue coif day of closures here) . The front 40. Did a good job!! Can’t do the back 40. So now the disparity between the two is becoming a problem.

Where are the speakeasy’s for hair?

We find out Monday if there will be an opening of salons in our state. And I will go in. We are going to have to figure out how to live a life in these times! It’s going to be interesting to see how things roll out.

I have been cutting my own hair for the last 30 years. Nothing new to report there, but I have now replaced all the appliances in my kitchen. This includes dishwasher, fridge, range, coffee maker, microwave, faucet, and soap dispenser in my kitchen sink.

The range (stove/oven) was the last item. The one I removed was original to the house (1984). It was way past time to replace that thing.

Drained spa, cleaning and refilling today. Canned 16 pounds of tomatoes today for sauce. Last weekend canned 45 pounds as chunky oven roasted tomatoes.
Helping kiddo with his PTR, cleaning out his room, going for a bike ride with him, he will be running. Saw 2 new bird species at my feeders this week.
And for the win, postponing grading papers-- not motivated.
Oh and we got the garden in and 2 new 8 foot raised beds built and planted. Not cutting my own long hair. Sporting greys at my crown, my racing stipe is getting more pronounced.

That dishwasher thing has been one of the oddest “us too!” outcomes of this situation. No meals out or skipped > every other day now for us, compared to every 3-5 days when it’s just the two of us.

P.S. I updated my To Do list for today. Didn’t do any of it.

My accomplishments:

Managed to sort and organized all of my TA-50. Four bins of equipment later, I've decided the Army has issued me too many things.
Beat XCOM 2 for the first time. Highly encourage it if you are looking for a video game to lose many hours to.
Almost caught up on reading but that's a Quixote goal that I'll never actually manage to achieve.

Front yard cleared of fallen leaves (desert trees shedding)...yucca discovered growing among bottlebrushes...both trimmed. All bottlebrushes cleared of dead wood and raised off ground. The result is a nice look! Then...roses trimmed of suckers, palms cleared of dead fronds (only got stabbed twice, the blood washes out), and pulled about 30 "pups" from two agaves.

Then it hit 100F and we said "done!"

It is soooo hot ! And we are at 4400 feet. Got my farmer tan today

Working together with DW to make space in the garage and basement. Organizing, moving and chucking stuff. Laughing together and remembering simple times when just the two of us and less stuff.

Started employing the younger DS (16 y/o) to sort and clean old fired brass taking up space, he's wanting to learn how to reload.

Received a call from an Army buddy yesterday I haven't spoken to in at least 5-7 yrs. We went through basic and AIT together, great conversation, catching up, exchanged family pics. Shared the love and reached out to a mutual friend after he asked, have you ever heard from x?

Family dinners every night and DW and I finding a couple of different Netflix shows together. Some nights it's Ozark, others it's Designated Survivor. I like to watch an episode or two of The Ranch sometimes after she goes to bed.

Tomorrow is fourth or fifth consecutive trash day where I put an extra bag or two out in front of the neighbor's houses in the cul de sac to keep the pickup crew from dreading the stop in front of our house.

It’s so refreshing to see our favorite Movie and TV stars normal. Looking like normal people from their homes. Not perfect. Their faces, hair, wardrobe and houses. Just like normal people. Unedited or staged. I think that’s pretty cool.
