Could someone please tell me what could happen to basic cadets who miss 1-2 days of BCT training because they are in close contact with another cadet who tested positive for COVID? Will there be another opportunity for them to complete their training at Jacks Valley?

I spoke to my DD last night and she missed a few of the events at Jack's Valley due to an injury. She said that she will still pass Basic because it was a medical issue, she also mentioned there was quite a few injured in addition to the ones that were pulled for the covid close contact. She said that there was talk that there might be an opportunity to go back to Jack's to do those events, sometime in the future but she really didn't know. She was just happy that it wasn't going to affect her passing. Hopefully you got a call last night and it resolved your questions as well.

This information is very helpful. And, yes, I spoke with my DS, but he couldn't tell me if they'd have another opportunity to go to Jacks.

In all likelihood, there will not be a return to Jack's Valley. Staffing requirements to accomodate a mixed bag of missed stations would likely preclude them from running some kind of makeup. The school year is upon us, football season effectively kills Saturday options and overall ----- it is not required. Once they graduate BCT, they are onto the next thing and the fire hydrant will not slow down for them until after Recognition at Spring Break.

It's a bummer, but they press on.
