*******I can assure you with 101% certainty.....INTERIM GUIDANCE regarding applicants to the military, enlisted or officer, that have been either clinically diagnosed or tested positive with COVID19 are......NOT permanently DQd for either of those corona virus statues...... Situationally dependent on a case-by-case basis, applicants may be DQd for a certain time period until certain criteria are met. The official policy ix expected to be published in te not too distant future*********** :wiggle:

Don't follow media releases, even posting of memos can be misconstrued. Listen to Mr. Mullen!!!! This is someone who is "in the loop" regarding medical issues and requirements for entering military service. Until something is published in DoDMERB, or MEPS Officially, it is rumor.
 
I can see this scenario:
"I want to enlist in the Army in a few months, but I'm really, really sick. I better not go to the hospital and get checked out."

Sorry to disagree, but dangerous stuff is when people believe conspiracies like those from the video and Dr. Mikovits. It was removed from YouTube and Facebook for a reason, such as stating misinformation like suggesting that wearing a mask can make you sick could lead to imminent harm.

So far I have heard many doctors say sheltering in place only guarantees the virus comes back.

And I have heard credible doctors on both sides debate the use of the masks. Fauci and Birx both gave differing answers on the masks.

Sorry. Dangerous stuff is taking down information. Hydroxychloroquine has been used by many countries including China, Italy and others with success. Including the US. Yet Facebook bans those videos too.

Same with studies on the importance of vitamin D and vitamin C.

I like to read both sides of issues. Also - I don’t trust when people push something that they benefit financially from.

No matter. Not here to disagree. Just putting out other ideas. Sitting here in NY - fascinating how 67% of the new cases are from people that stayed inside.
 
This thread is about the rumors floating around about COVID and entry into the Armed Services. If you want to have a debate about COVID theories, treatments, etc. take it to another thread in Off Topic, or better yet, take it to another site.
 
Folks ...here is the common sense approach to the "rumor" about COVID disqualifying from Military Service --

1) We are dealing with a virus that has been around anywhere from 6-8 months(depending upon who you believe), and most of those cases have been in the last 2-3 months.
2) 6-8 months (and certainly 2-3 months) isn't enough time to fully recover and evaluate the long term impact of the disease.
3) Too "permanently" ban what may ultimately become >60% of our population base seems pretty extreme, particularly since we don't know the long term impact.

The one thing we do know is that there are alot of things we don't know, and even the experts can't agree on what we do know.

Folks, I'm going to lock this thread. As the title is false, and as Mr. Mullen has pointed out, it is NOT policy, I don't see this having much value to the membership beyond where it is now.
