Hello, since USCGA/CG fall under Homeland Security, have they not dropped the mandatory Covid-19 vaccination for incoming classes? I see it's still mandatory for AIM, but wasn't sure if that was due to being a summer program on campus near cadets/staff.

Wouldn’t incoming classes also be on campus near cadets/staff? Not following the logic of the question.

It’s required for AIM summer and I haven’t seen anywhere it has officially been dropped for the actual academy cadets (even the CG website still has info with requirements). DH is AF and his command staff sent a memorandum recinding, we had thought that maybe they didn’t fall under it because DHS rather than DOD.

I guess I’m looking for clarification is CG/USCGA has dropped the requirement? I just read the USMMA dropped it Friday, and others has previously… But they all fall directly under DOD vs DHS. :)

DB (1/c at USCGA) says that the memorandum applied to all members of the armed forces including CG, hope this answers your question.

Thank you, I saw the AIM has been very recently updated (I had checked 2/24 and it was still listed for June 19th deadline, it’s no longer there!)

I don't know the current status on the covid vaccine requirement at USCGA, but they are still testing for covid and isolating those who test positive. Every cadet returning from spring break was tested as they returned to campus before they could go to Chase Hall.

Thank you. Wondering if incoming 4/C are required to have it.

We need some clarification on this. I was assuming it was no longer mandatory for incoming class. It didn't mention a vax requirement in BFE.
The BFE that you mentioned typically focuses on the appointment acceptance and initial paperwork. In the spring, the class of 2027 will received more paperwork to complete. That will have more detailed requirements . A google of class of 2026 cadet handbook lists an idea of whats coming to your child.
