Does anyone have a good idea of the timeline of the AOG Civil Prep offers? I'm assuming that most recipients don't find out until after most of the NWL slots are filled as they are right on the border of waiting list admission. When do most CP offers go out? Thank you.

DD had her AOG offer early March last year, but I do remember them being offered into April.

Belisarius,
I’m curious if what state and district do you belong to? My DD has a congressional noms. Also got 3 Q on 15 March.

My DS got his in April, right after another parent on the forum reported that her DD was offered an appointment and was giving up her AOG spot. Apparently her slate somehow cleared up and she was next in line. We were certainly glad she got in! There is so much going on behind the scenes in admissions that I think it is really pretty unpredictable.

Thank you for the replies. I received some CP news yesterday. Can anyone recommend which prep schools would be advisable to choose? My top three at the moment are Greystone, MMI, and Northwestern Prep. Greystone seems like the best environment, but it is quite expensive, and the one semester nature of Northwestern Prep seems a bit odd. I want a challenging environment in which I will truly extend my education.

Did you contact your RC, is that how you found out? Debating on whether or not my DD should contact her RC, she hasn't had any contact. She is dead set on the Citadel, but MMI looks good to me. Wondering which would be better for a prep school.

My RC reached out to me. However, I don't think that it would hurt at all to contact your RC and simply express that if you don't gain direct admission you would deeply appreciate a CP opportunity. I would recommend against asking for it, just express interest or work it into some other communication.

:) And she got in after her friend decided on USNA and gave up his USMA slot... so we think. Crazy how all the cards played last year!

DS spent this year at MMI as an AOG. Originally was not thrilled with the idea of spending a year in Alabama. Now says it was best decision he ever made.

The SAP program there, whether sponsored or self prep is very successful in getting appointments. Also seems in recent years MMI does collect more USMA appointments than anywhere else.

My DS would highly recommend it. But it is NOT easy. They are serious about preparing their cadets for the SA of their choice.

We have been very impressed with MMI for our DS. They have a good track record of USMA admits after the year spent there - that was obviously very important to us seeing as DS was turning down fabulous opportunities at civilian schools to pursue this path. He has enjoyed his time there, developed an strong support system with the other AOG's, and seems well-prepared for USMA. It has been a great experience for him.
