CPR April 7th

Highly unlikely for an appointment....normally, Foundation and NAPS offers are made to those rejected by the Admissions Board. In recent history, there seems to be some exceptions...but they are that...rare exceptions.

But getting held back by a year was a little hard to digest even for USNA.

I guess it's all in perspective. With almost 50% of kids in college taking AT LEAST 5 years to graduate, we took the Foundations offer and ran with it. As my DD said,"I am willing to commit to 9 years, what's another one?" Can honestly say that this "extra" year has been a total blessing--never looked at it as "being held back", only has an extra year to grow and mature. DD got to take an AP Mechanical physics class not offered at her HS as well as AP BC Calc that wasn't offered. Also took AP Lit which featured completely different literature than HS. But best of all, DD got to ski three times a week for her "winter sport". For a kid from the plains, this was heaven on earth. She's rested and ready for USNA!

We wish informe the very best and realize Foundations isn't for everyone--fair winds and following seas, informe.

I thank this forum for the commradierie and the wealth of information. Ultimately it is up to the individual to make the decision. And it is nice to see a 17 year old make the tough decisions. My DS is like the maverick, fun, happy go lucky, full of life and looking for adventure, I respect his decsions and support him 100 %. I know people like him will soar to the sky in no matter what they do especially in the military.
