I really suggest he contact his counselor. They have to be 3q'd before they go before the admissions board...medically, physically and academically.

Yeah. He could contact his counselor, but I think it isn't in the cards for him this time. That was a pretty big (obvious) step to miss, so I think he isn't ready for the academy necessarily (or doesn't want it badly enough -- even though he talks about how much he wants to go there!) and will be better off doing ROTC. I suppose trying again next year could work. Maybe he will love ROTC at San Diego State University, which is his plan.

It will be very nice for him there. My son graduated from marine boot camp there. Love San diego!! Best wishes to him!
 
Crickets here in Georgia as well. Dissappointing. Thought today would finally be the day.
 
Still hearing crickets in VA, too. Guess it will remain that way for the weekend since it's now Friday afternoon at almost 4pm ET.
 
Just got the portal update that I won't be offered an appointment. Looks like ROTC it is.
 
I was just informed that I was not selected for an appointment :/ Looks like my road to the Academy ends here, but luckily I have an AFROTC scholarship! To all who have been appointet, I wish you luck and hope that it is everything you ever wanted. Maybe one day we will cross paths as officers! Finally, thank you to all who have participated in these forums! They have been a tremendous help to me and all other applicants. Go Air Force!!
 
Crickets no more in VA. DS just got an email giving him news of non-appointment. :(. He's got a solid plan B, now considered plan A, locked into place and a 4-year AFROTC Scholarship to boot. So very proud he made it this far. Good luck to all still waiting.

Here in GA, too. Just got the bad news but ECSTATIC about Plan B which is now Plan A at VMI; solid Plan C at UGA in case the bubble wrap doesn't work!
 
Holding on if only by a thread but still here! Next week is going to be extremely hard for some of us. I want to take the time to thank everyone here. Having these forums made it bearable to get through portal updates :) Good Luck everyone I hope we all have great news next week whether it is Plan A or B.
