CULP and CIET summer 2015 AROTC

OK -- this is likely a couple of naive questions but have all CULP assignments gone out? Do cadets receive "you were not chosen" notifications? I ask because my DS hasn't received any notifications yet but I also haven't seen anyone post that his DS/DD was assigned to the geography that was my DS's top choice. (I recognize that this board isn't exactly a random sample so that last bit of information may be meaningless. Just wondering if there might be some geography order in play here.)

SPM, make sure your DS checks his email spam filter. My DS checked the CC portal, his ako and his school email - nothing, and he was very disappointed. I just said in an offhand comment, did you check your spam folder? He thought I was nuts - but that's where it was. If not, he should check with the cadre. I'm sure they are notified about their applicants. Fingers crossed for your DS!

Thank you jbm02 -- he's checked his spam and there was nothing there. At this point it is up to him to decide to check with cadre but I would say his outlook isn't good. He's got a couple of things working against him. The good thing is that he has a Plan B and will now be able to get a couple of really tough academic courses completed over the summer.
 
Notices of non selection will be sent once all "selectees" have either approved or declined their selection for CULP.

I don't know if they will make new offers based on those that decline the offer, that would be something you would need to talk to the person in your battalion that is handling CULP applications.
 
Just to keep the group updated. I was notified last night by telephone that I was selected in the second round of offers. The person I talked with stated they had around 75 positions open up from people who declined. Looks like I will be traveling to Angola this summer.
 
AS for CIET, I just heard from my PMS, all scholarship cadets, contracted or otherwise, at my school will be going to CIET this summer.
 
My son heard the same about CIET and was told to plan on sometime early June to mid July. He was told by the PMS there would be an opportunity for questions as soon as he finds out specific details (about the dates etc).
 
MSI and MSIIs? Is that what you mean by All scholarship cadets? Because MSIIIs have mandatory summer training.
 
My son was just told 4 year scholarship MS1's. At his school they are all contracted so I don't know if that would include a not-yet-contracted MS1, although I thought they had to contract by now to keep the scholarship? could be wrong about that, however.
 
To clarify, when I said all scholarship cadets, I meant MS1s, both 3 YR and 4 YR. I probably should have worded that better.
 
I'm a contracted MSII and will for sure be going to CIET this summer, most likely immediately after cup so I don't have to fly home and then fly right back to Ft. Knox so news must be going out about this now
 
DS was told by his cadre this morning that anyone who got a CULP assignment will not be going to CIET.
 
DS received email from his PMS today (and it looked like it was also sent to the other 7 or 8 cadets also on scholarship), saying that "as of now it looks like your CIET dates will be....." and it had the date, which I don't really remember, but I think it was the first one.
 
DS is a contracted MSII just texted he will be going to CIET this summer, not a happy camper. He has spent a fair amount of time applying for jobs and internships for this summer all for naught. He was told he could "request" potential dates.
 
Class was informed today that it was all contracted MS1's and part of the top of the MS1 class OML. We got to request dates.
 
Was told today after PT that MSII now are the priority for CIET
 
Not sure if I should piggyback on this thread but any Army ROTC on a Flagship Language Scholarship? I know of some Air Force cadets, but how is CIET applied to those on a Foreign Area Scholarship which is a 5 year plan?
 
1)Does anyboby have a list of dates for CIET?
2)I know there was a detailed description of CIET somewhere on the forum but I cannot find it. Does someone have one available?
