If you received a nomination - were you contacted by someone to let you know? And if yes, by whom - office or MOC? Email or phone call?
How quickly after interview?

To answer the "how quickly" part of your question, normally the nomination board will let the interviewees know around when they should release the nominations. For example, the senator I interviewed about 3 weeks ago will release his nominations in mid-December. Each senator/congressman will have a different timeline.

My son has only had one interview so far. (11/12) and the board told him that he would hear something before Thanksgiving. He is assuming he will receive an email but is keeping an eye on his portal too. Waiting is hard!

My DS had his virtual interview with our congressman's panel on 11/5 and he texted me at work on Monday 11/7 that he got the nomination. He had received an email from the staffer that he had received he nomination, and the official letter from the Congressman was attached. I think the nomination appeared in his portal later that day or the next day. We weren't expecting that kind of turnaround, so we hadn't even had time to play the waiting game :). I was a nice surprise and relief!

DD found a Nomination in her USNA Portal on 11/17 after 10/22 Nomination Board Interview. After follow-up she found that Senator Rubio snail mailed the notice, which has not come yet.

Last year DD was interviewed in early December . On January 25, she checked her portal and saw the nomination. I believe several days after that , she received an email from our Congresswoman that she had received a nomination. I remember the January 25th date because applications were due January 31 and she was panicking she hadn’t received a nomination plus it’s my niece’s birthday .

Each MOC runs their own NOM process. All of them have to submit their NOM's by the SA Jan. 31 deadline. If/when/how they might contact applicants vary so there is no way to answer that question in general. Some may contact those chosen, others may not. What a specific MOC did in a prior year may not be how they choose to do it this year.

This! There are 535 MOCs, hence up to 535 different ways to execute the nom process. It’s not YMMV. It’s “your mileage will vary.” So instead, focus on what you control.

Or, you may simply see a check in the proper box on your portal. No notice at all.

So, in this day and age of not answering your phone, it’s a good idea TO answer, if you can, and want that experience. If you aren’t going to answer? Have a voicemail (professional 😬 sounding) set up.

Also, the call may come from a personal number. Any area code. Can’t assume they will call from a DC area code, for example.

DS received call last week that he received nomination from Senator Rick Scott to USAFA from one of his staffers and received an official letter a few days later.
