This online form gives you the opportunity to self-report important qualifications, including your grade point average, class rank and extracurricular activities. What is the difference between applicants and candidate pool?
Applications are those who opened a PCQ, candidates are those who meet the minimum standards for appointments. Those who are 3Qed are a smaller group. Using data from previous years, that number is between 3300 and 1700Applications are those who apply and candidates are those who are qualified...I believe

That would be ideal but at the same time USAFA pays for the exams so they want some sort of weeding out process for unserious applicants. Would be curious to see how many nominations are actually wasted by an unwaiverable medical DQ. Im positive that number would be virtually nothing compared to the amount of pointless medical exams that would be done by applicants who don’t finish the entire process. It really seems like a waste for everyone involved to not do the DODMERB up front before the whole application train gets going. I mean, my DS got through the whole entire process, offered an appointment, and was DODMERB disqualified. Now he got a waiver and has since been qualified and accepted, but how many candidates are just disqualified by DODMERB with unwaiverable items? The country is wasting a whole bunch of nominations that could go to qualified DODMERB candidates if they were just screened up front.
Isn't the spot just offered to the next person. People can still get an appointment even right before BCT.That would be ideal but at the same time USAFA pays for the exams so they want some sort of weeding out process for unserious applicants.
