This forum was super crucial to me my senior year of high school and now I am currently a sophomore contracted cadet. If you have any questions about army rotc ask away!

Thanks for offering to answer questions!

Has your battalion set a timetable for transitioning from the APFT to the ACFT?

Yes, actually it’s been a huge part of our PT. So far this year we have taken the ACFT twice. We took it for the first time at the end of August and just recently took it again at the end of October. Also every other Friday’s PT is ACFT training where we just focus on the ACFT events.

I am attending Washington State University. I love the campus but if you know anything about Pullman it is a small college town with 2/3 of the population being students so there isn’t a ton of stuff to do outside of school. However I love the program, cadre and I’d have to say my classmates really push me forward as our ms2 class is pretty close knit

What physical demand category do cadets have to meet for the ACFT?

My ms2 instructor always says no one cares about anything other than how fast your 2 mile is haha. I hope that answers your question.

I'm an MSIII. For those who are not used to lifting weights and doing sprints, the ACFT is a big wake up call. My school has began to focus every PT session on some verison of the ACFT. If you're interested in the details of all six events just google "Army ACFT" and the first link provides an endless amount of information.

Besides the changes in actual events, this new test does not have a male and female scale. It has genderless standards. Furthermore, the required minimum and maximum is based off of what your MOS or job in the Army is. Those in military intelligence or transportation will not have to meet the same standard as those in infantry or armor.
