, I'm curious as to whether or not NAPS is exclusively for those with low scholastic qualification.
My DD was accepted last Dec. Not a recruited athleteWhen do students start getting accept d to NAPS?
Where is the Prep School for USNA?I am currently attending NAPS with the class of 2018. I know while I was applying and when I got accepted to NAPS I had a lot of questions no one seemed to be able to answer. There's also a lack of information about NAPS on the web. So if you have any questions I'm happy to answer them!

Hello my DS is applying to USNA and heard that the midshipmen get a lot of slack from the detailers for attending NAPS. Did you find the to be true?I am currently attending NAPS with the class of 2018. I meant to say they are looked down upon because they went to prep school. Not sure if that is true. The is just what we heard. What do you mean, get a lot of "slack."? If you are suggesting that Plebe Summer is easier, it is to some degree... the NAPSTER has a year experience, knows what to expect, and isn't starting from Ground Zero. That doesn't necessarily mean the NAPSTER has it easier or the Detailers cut them slack ; in fact one could say its harder, because the expectations are higher , and the NAPSTER is expected to assist his/her classmates when they struggle.
Heard from who?I meant to say they are looked down upon because they went to prep school. Not sure if that is true. The is just what we heard.
Thanks Capt MJ, not only am I surprised but I am also annoyed by this. My DS has met many prep schoolers on his numerous visits to USCGA including some from from NAPS and has always been impressed by them. This bit of hearsay about prepsters has left me slack-jawed in surprise.

Regarding cadet candidates from CGA. It depends on the year. My year had a few per company. Drama depends on your class. I can say there were people who perpetuated drama and others who didn’t. Everyone knows your business and news travels fast, so do your best and don’t give people reasons to question your integrity. How many cadet candidates at NAPS? And is there as much drama there as USAFA Prep? My sister is at Prep and there’s A LOT of stuff going on there. She said it’s like attending a high school in a very small town.
