Current USMAPS Prepster- Ask Anything

Currently, almost all of us do not know. We are hoping for news at the end of this week, if not it will be two days before graduation(next week).
Thank you. So what fall-back plans have you or others made? God forbid, if somebody doesn't get a USMA appointment, have you applied to other schools just in case?

Personally, I did not apply to any other place. That is not the best option to do, but I was sitting pretty decently in the class and did not want to spend more money on applications nor did I have a lot of extra time. I stayed in contact and made great connections with other universities that I wanted to do ROTC at. They said to reach out to them, if things did not work out. During one of my senator interviews, I was offered a full ride to a college, so that was an option. Some other plans I have are: enlisted, game warden, work for a year in a military related business, etc... Others here applied to ROTC and non-ROTC colleges, other service academies, enlisted/went back to regular Army, community college, went to work.... USMAPS will help you out with finding another plan if you are showing that you are not just giving up. Most people tat are potentially going to not receive an appointment already have been hinted that to make alternate plans.

I've been wondering, what are some of the clubs like at USMAPS? When do y'all typically do clubs in the schedule?
So due to covid, there was like zero clubs at first and then some arised as the year went on. This year there was CrossTraining(Religious Club), Spectrum(LGBTQ+ club), Adventure Club, Stocks Club, Yearbook, Corbin Forum(Women), VLP(Vanguard Leadership Forum). There should be more this upcoming year.

Not sure what you mean. Please PM me.
Unless you have toggled it off, people can post messages to your profile, viewable to all. I just went to your profile and saw it.

I have mine toggled off. I didn’t realize people were posting directly to my profile. Too much to monitor.

I keep seeing around that the max age that someone can be to attend west point/USMAPS is 22 (prior to July 1)

Question: If someone was accepted to USMAPS (who would be 22 years old when they finally attend), but would turn 23 prior to attending West Point the following year, would they be just fine?

I was born 2000 June 29, so I'm right at the fence

I personally cannot answer this question. If you were accepted to Prep, then you would be fine. I heard of some cases like this where it was wavied.

With the current precautions, would you say if it's worth it to bring a car to campus? Do CC's get to travel out of West Point often?

I would say yes for this year. Normal years, you can leave every weekend mostly. This past year, we started getting day passes the last month and one overnight pass the last weekend. Plus, you can use your car around campus to go to the PX and Com. I did not bring my car, and I did not need one but it was a struggle to find a ride when I needed or wanted one. There is also Ubers too.
