Hi, I was recently accepted to NASS but declined it and now I got an email inviting me to a CVW.

Should I take this with a grain of salt or a sign that they want me? Thanks :shake:

I would take it this way: USNA considers you a competitive candidate based on the information you provided. They don't yet know enough to decide if they "really want you."

If you're interested in USNA, definitely do CVW.

CVW is for qualified applicants who did not go to NASS (whether they declined like you did or they did not get accepted as a result of the geographic marketing of Summer Seminar. See it as a good thing--you were accepted to NASS, but when you declined they continued to try to get you to come!

Our daughter is attending NASS, but also got an invitation for the CVW.

I knew if I came here I'd find an answer to my question! My DS did not get into NASS but was offered CVW, which he WILL be attending at the end of this month. I thought this was probably a good sign so glad to see folks here agree.

The letter regarding NASS said something about geographic distribution, but I also have the feeling that him dragging his feet on turning in the app did not help (it wasn't submitted until March 25). It's not that he doesn't want to go to USNA as BELIEVE ME, he does - I think he was just really nervous about what they will think of him and wanted the application to be perfect. So he's disappointed about NASS, but now he's really excited to go to CVW. Somehow I didn't know CVWs existed so I'm thrilled he will still have the chance to stay in Bancroft and get a taste of Academy life!
