DS going to CVW this weekend we are flying down. Do we need to bring bedding, i.e. sleeping bag?

Unless things have recently changed, he will need bedding. My daughter brought twin sheets, a blanket, and a small pillow. I saw many candidates carrying a sleeping bag instead. Enjoy the visit! It's a great experience.

My daughter will be attending this weekend also. She is taking a sleeping bag.

Thanks for the tips. We are looking forward to it. Never been to Annapolis before so it should be fun for all.

Usually there is someone with CVW experience who recommends taking some treats for the hosting mid and roomies.

Yes, take a sleeping bag with you. And don't forget those homemade goodies for the hosting mid. They are surely appreciated!!

Ditto

DS took sleeping bag and cookies. Went over well with company he was assigned to.

For your DS/DD - Dress appropriately - casual but neat, i.e. khakis and polo. Carry a book or minimal homework to do while your mids may be engaged in study time. They may be more or less busy depending on when you go. DS had contact primarily with plebe and roomie, but did get to meet several other mids in the company. Got to go to class and EC's as well. ASK QUESTIONS! This is a great opportunity to experience a small slice of life on the inside. You may want to prepare some questions ahead of time so as not to forget any detail that you may be curious about. Don't worry so much about whether this makes you more or less qualified for appointment, this is your opportunity to see your potential to "fit" at USNA and for USNA to "fit" your path to become an officer. Have a great time, make some new friends. Good luck!
