Hi All - DS is fortunate enough to attend CVW next week. Is an interview with an admissions officer part of the program? Can DS request for one? BGO interview completed and CPR since end of Aug. All feedback much appreciated.

Not typically. Whether or not you can request one, I don't know. There isn't a lot of time from that Thursday evening to Saturday morning, if you want to go to classes with the Mid who is dragging you. Thursday evening after you arrive and check in, they do an orientation brief with some audio-visual aids in an auditorium (In Mitscher Hall, I believe).

No an interview is not part of the program. Why would you request an interview if the BGO has submitted one. CVW is just giving the candidate an opportunity to see the day in the life of a Plebe. CPR since August will possibly continue unless candidate receives LOA (slim chance), BFE or TWE. Most MOC's have not even had nomination interviews. I get it the wait is difficult. But I have several candidates who have very little of their application complete. Last year the candidate who received an Appointment didn't finish application until Jan. 30. Late yes however was a principle nomination from MOC so Academy had to offer if 3 Q'd. IMHO DS should just go to CVW ask questions of the Plebe and enjoy his experience! Then wait.

Yes, any candidate can request a meeting with an admissions counselor at the Academy. Have your son call ahead to set an appointment or drop by the Admissions office when he is on the Yard. Good luck!

I am also at CVW next week too. It's a long drive but I am very excited! I am missing one of my last varsity home games but this is more important. I have been CPR since early August and trying to run as much as I can while I wait.

Enjoy, watch, listen, absorb, ask questions.
