CVW junior year good or bad?

Hey, guys so this is a question about the CVW. Early into my junior year, I received an invite to the January CVW. I received this info 1 month approximately after my first ACT score came out, which was 32(not that fantastic as my math was 29 at the time). I am a current senior and have been wondering how or why I received an invite back then, when, at the time, I hadn't even had contact with USNA other than a phone call with my BGO and sending my scores to USNA. I was wondering if anyone had an answer to how it happened. I also want to know if it is more significant to receive one senior year when USNA has more info about you, or junior year when they only have an ACT.

Could have been your BGO. Perhaps they recognized you as a good candidate.

It won’t mean you have an advantage now. It doesn’t mean that USNA is ‘recruiting you’.

It’s an outreach program, for various targets they try to hit/reach/increase.

You could inquire of your BGO if the requested one. Perhaps it’s your demographic information that you provided when you took your ACT.

During your junio year

During your junior year were you selected for Summer Seminar? If you were not selected for summer seminar, or if you applied after the deadline for NASS, it is likely you may have been selected for a CVW based on your stats submitted in the preliminary application. It is Admissions' way of getting competitive candidates on the Yard so you have the opportunity to fall in love with the Academy.
