I am going to the candidate visit weekend this weekend from November 3-5 and I was wondering what to expect this weekend from people who have done this in the past.

I attended my CVW this year from September 1-3. It was an amazing experience, and it really motivated me to get my application completed and turned in. The first thing is really to pay attention to the classes and the student environment, and see if you can picture yourself going there. Dress nicely (The website recommends polos and khakis), be respectful, etc. And have fun! No matter the result of your application, how many people can say they've gotten to stay in Bancroft Hall?

I went last year, and I left there having no doubts that it was where I wanted to be. It gives you insight into some things that you can't read on the internet. Don't be afraid to ask questions. It is a great experience, and truly shows what life is like during the academic year.

I went during this past April, and I had a great time as well! My biggest tip for anyone going on a CVW: Ask A LOT of questions! I learned so much about the Academy and daily life in my two days there because I asked many questions to many different midshipmen. As USNAhopeful21 said, I also felt that I would truly enjoy attending the Naval Academy. You'll have a great time! :groupwave:

Thanks everyone for responding Ik super excited to go and I'll remember to ask questions what did you guys wear by chance

I wore khakis and a polo/button-up shirt. Was cold so I was wearing a jacket pretty much the whole time. But not everybody did this, so don't feel like you have to. Just look relatively "nice".

I had my CVW around this time last year, and it was relatively mild so I mostly wore khakis and a nice blouse and jacket. Look presentable, as most first impressions are based on appearances. I had a great time and met some really cool Mids, and I ended up seeing both Mids I stayed with and one of the other girls doing a CVW at my Summer Seminar session I went to. CVWs are another great excuse to be on USNA campus and give a real view into what Plebe year is like. If you get the chance and your Mid's company is having it while you're there, I would also highly recommend going to their company PT session with them!
