My son received his appointment in mid February and had never visited Annapolis. Of course he knew the opportunities, but a visit was an absolute must. 5A soccer season prevented an earlier visit. His confidence regarding the rigors of the Academy were his main concern. The visit could not have been better! The initial briefing was up front and informative...no sugar coating. What was eye opening for him was the 5:30 am fitness regimen! But he hung in there with the Mids and kept pace with them...so that was a confidence builder. In the classrooms he was able to grasp what was being taught...challenging, but nothing foreign (remember that feeling in college Quantitative Analysis when they might as well have been speaking Russian...I do!) There was a great Male Glee Club concert as well. Long story short, DS returned home and got those papers in the mail on the first USPS plane/train/truck smokin! So officially I can say that my son is a member of the Naval Academy Class of 2017!

It really is an amazing place. Just spent the weekend in Annapolis ,my DD will also be part of class of 2017. We took her older brother and sister so they could get a feel for what she is about to under take. They were so impressed with the Academy!
