CVW

my midn just texted me....his "drag" was a no-show for CVW:confused: ......he had even ordered pizza for his drag.....and was planning on watching Missouri beat Memphis on TV in the Co. wardroom (carry-on privileges w/ a drag):groupwave: Go Mizzou !!!

Well mine is there right now!!

My "drag" (hopeful class of 2013) is there right now, gave me a very brief call to let me know all was well, went on a three mile run with his hosts and felt "great"!!! I am so anxious to hear all about it!!!:thumb:

I am here right now (Plebe is studying during his off period) and it is an absolute blast. Did early morning PT, and I mean really early morning, 5:30, but 3:30 time for me since I am from Colorado.:thumb: was a great experience though. If accepted, there is no doubt in my mind that I will be here next year. Have met many amazing young men and women, most likely your sons and daughters. Will update when I am finished tomorrow afternoon,

Thanks!! Looking forward to more info:biggrin::yllol:

This might be a dumb question but does anyone have the upcoming dates for the CVW's and who to contact about attending one? My parents were trying to plan one in april since my appointment letter should be here any day. Thanks

I don't know dates, but call up admission and ask them for dates and an invite.

Glad to hear your having a blast. I haven't heard from my drag.....lol....but thanks to you we have some contact. Can't wait to hear your updates. How's the food, the weather, the midshipmen/women, the grounds, the city, etc.... anything to hear about is fabulous, especially the classes and how many in each class, etc...
Have a fabulous time, sounds like you are and awaiting your updates. Thanks.

You can find out about upcoming CVW's on the calenders on the USNA website.

I will have my husband check for you when they return within the hour. He may still have the dates from when my son planned his trip. Be back soon with an update.

April 16 thru 18, 23rd thru 25th are the upcoming cvw weekends.

thanks for the info maui1. So it starts on the thursday morning through saturday night? My parents were planning on driving most likely, we're in the middle of illinois so itd be a drive so we needed to plan ahead. thanks for the information. hopefully i can attend the 16

Son had to check in Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. His plane landed very early that morning but they have a place for you if you arrive early via air or land. If you arrive early they will have a place for your belongings, too. The weekend ends on Saturday at 11:00 am.

Just got done with CVW and I am waiting in the airport to head back to Denver. One suggestion; dress nice the first night, slacks, polo, etc. However, don't bring like 3 outfits of business casual clothes, I brought way too many nice clothes and just ended up wearing jeans, a polo and boat shoes. In my opinion, just bring jeans, and a couple collared shirts. You really are just with your plebe and his or her roommate, and don't need to impress anybody, but of course still try to look presentable. My plebe and his roommate were awesome and really told me what to expect should I earn an appointment. I highly recommend this visit if you can; I had a great time. I was on the fence regarding USNA or NROTC (don't have an appointment yet but it is very possible that I will get one), and this definitely solidified my decision to go USNA if possible. Any questions, shoot.

How was the weather? Cali boy over here.. I don't think I have any clothes for the cold.

Just got home... Nice time, very impressed. I am now much more confused about where I should head in the summer.

Weather was rainy and cool on Thursday, probably in the 50s. Sunny for most of Friday, maybe about 60.

Dress does not need to be too fancy. Bring one pair of slacks, and jeans. Polo's are good. And a t-shirt to lounge in while chilling with the plebe.

The CVW was a blast... it really made it even harder to wait though. April 15th really can't come quick enough, in my opinion. 5 lacrosse games in the next two weeks will hopefully help speed things up! If you are a candidate and get the chance to go to a CVW, GO!

April 15 has been advertised as the date by which USNA will let the candidates know one way or the other.
