I was recently given the dq D155.70, which is myopia (nearsightedness) greater than -8 diopters. I am very nearsighted but it is fully correctable and I have no other eye health issues (lab tested and confirmed healthy).

The thing is that my glasses vision is over -8 diopters, but with contact lenses, it is right at -8 diopters. I am deciding which perspiration to submit for my waiver, does anyone know if dodmerb would care if I use the numbers from contact lenses or glasses? Any and all responses are much appreciated

My son was DQ for this same issue. He was directed by the CIV Team for another appointment for a 2nd vision test. The contracted optometrist would directly report to the CIV Team the results (i.e. the prescription for glasses and/or contact lenses, etc.). Personally, I would provide prescriptions for both glasses and contact lenses. Why not? Is the CIV Team involved in your issue?

Hey OP, dd had a similar experience as cptmycpa (though slightly different vision code dq). She was also directed by Civ Team for a 2nd vision test, and the optometrist directly provided the results to Civ Team, since we used the Civ Team optometrist a second time for the AMI/AMS.

For the conditions of your AMI/AMS, are you planning to use your own optometrist instead of the one provided by Civ Team? We were glad that the Civ Team provider took care to fulfill the information needed by DodMerb for the waiver, so we didn't need to worry about that. If you are comfortable using the provider set by Civ Team (and if they have an appointment available quickly) they can help you ensure that the required correct information is submitted for the waiver.
