I think there is a whole generation of people who fell in love with her in the original Brit show “The Avengers,” and we’re still wowed by the force of her acting as Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones. She was also the one and only Mrs. James Bond.

It was the leather cat suit, methinks.

As a kid, I was not allowed to watch TV on school nights, so my Friday routine was to make a bed on the couch in the family room and watch the Avengers and 12 O’Clock High. I vividly remember her demise in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

She was beautiful, cool, and classy to the end, but my heart belonged to Julie Andrews, until I grew up, i.e. turned about 40. Mary Poppins was hard to shake.

DH was the one who said to me that she was gone. He too had been smitten lo these many years ago. His alternate fave was Julie Christie.

I figured “Mrs. Peel’s” passing would be of interest to many of you.

A farewell parting gif for you, though sadly, the gif was too large, so I had to pull out a still. The full gif is fairly easy to find, and is a treat for the die-hard crushers (said kindly) who have popped up in this thread. DH thought original gif was “classic Diana Rigg.”

What is she drinking? Is that a pink gin? Not my strong suit to recognize cocktails.

Yeah. Another boy smitten by her. I was shocked when I realized who my childhood crush was in Game of Thrones.
Between her and my mother I think I was always drawn to the strong females.

So...Cersei?! 😱

That must be a combat corset she’s wearing. All the rage in the 60’s.

@Capt MJ ,

You started this thread and made 8 of the posts. Like a good psychiatrist or interrogator you have gotten us to bare our repressed adolescent souls. I think it’s time for you to share your adolescent heart throb with the SAF world. Back in the day I would never ask that of a lady, but in 2020, what’s good for the gander is good for the goose.

Totally off topic. I‘m switching channels and rewinding, trying to watch both Tom Brady and Harry Higgs, my new favorite professional golfer. He is totally old school.
