    good day
I viewed my DODMERBfor the first time today and saw my status stating that “pending waiver submission/ review” but then lower down- :states that “date letter sent- disqualification” on 2 nov 2018. Code is D155.80 which is astigmatism. I am highly confused on what to do at this point
    Plz assist
Am I knocked out of this now or I still have a chance to be accepted?

This is your college career — if not more — you’re talking about. Please don’t turn to an anonymous forum to enlighten you. Get on the phone and go straight to the source: USMA Admissions.

My DS just went through a lengthy remedial process for a surgery he had when he was 7. Now DQ’d and pending waiver submission/review for colorblindness USNA and NROTC and Qualified for USMA and Army ROTC. He reached out to the USNA health technician that said he needed to be offered admission first then they could put in for a waiver for him. I’m not sure if that’s colorblindness specific. He also contacted Larry Mullen at DoDMERB to go over his file and see if there’s anything he could do. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Good luck!!!

Thank you for the input. I truly appreciate it!
I’m guessing now that I am deemed compatible by getting selected past phase one- they may move forward with a waiver in my case. Finger crossed

    Good morning
This is the reason why I came on here to get clarification. I thought this was the reason for expressing concerns and hoping someone with more experience can present guidance to ppl in need.
    Thank you for you input

Which is exactly what happened: MidCakePa guided you to call, and ACatSLP guided you to call, and/or contact Larry Mueller. People here are not in the direct know. Best wishes to you!!

My son’s page says in top part:

January 2, 2018 date letter sent - single disqualification- D156.1

    Below it lists agencies ...

US Naval Academy pending waver submission/review. And the code and reason for dq.

And he is in waiver review process waiting for superintendent approval.

I assume until it says waiver denied, you are under review.

That’s the right one - the transition to mail.mil occurred a few years ago.

I deleted my post with the old osd email, and just found the correct one in my saved threads.

So my guess is DODMERB was waiting to see if I qualified for phase 2 first to see if they should process with my waiver since it was dated 2 November 2018 and yet no contact from them?

DODMERB disqualifies the candidate ... has nothing to do with the waiver.

    Ouch!
So there goes my chances? Since I’m currently DQ’d? Since it states it’s pending waiver submission/review- can that be reversed once all goes well to be qualified?

    Read the link. Please.

DODMERB sends the DQ to the academies. The admissions at the academies decide whether the candidate would benefit from a waiver or not. If not, your status would be waiver denied.

If they decide to move forward for the waiver, it’s a wait game.

As I told you - my son’s DODMERB says the same thing. And his waiver is sitting with the superintendent for approval.

Until it says waiver denied, my son has hope.
