DD and DS?

What does DD and DS mean in regards to the NROTC scholarship?

They don't mean anything in regards to the scholarship. They also don't mean anything in regards to the military.

This place is the first I have ever seen them used....

DD and DS and even DH are common acronyms across all Internet forums. Not just here.

True, I have seen and used them for many years now in various settings. It’s always up to the poster whether to use or not. No need to call the poor little abbreviations names and cast shade upon them, and by extension, those who use them. They are a comms tool, available to be used or not.

I just use HHGTWP

Hope He Gets Thru West Point. :)
All the more reason to refer to The Acronym List for this forum!:idea:

BTW, they are used very commonly in many forums. You may want to read around.

I don't go to many forums, thanks though.

Seems to me son works just fine. Is it some kind of rule to use 2 letters instead of 3?

Feel free to skip these stupid acronyms. They're 100% useless.
It is the language and nomenclature of the Military. Which is what brings most of us here. "Stupid?" Short-sided approach. Probably best to assimilate to one's working and living environment. No offense intended though, OK?

Anybody who goes to A&M Corps is going to be introduced to an entire new vocabulary - so, between that, the acronyms and the swearing the military definitely provides a lot of interesting changes to the "verbal communication skills" on an individual. I'm not sure I've ever recovered.

How could any parent of teenagers not be familiar with acronyms by this point in life? I have been indoctrinated over the years with...(sorry in advance for the swearing 😂)
