I have an LOA and 2 noms for USNA. I need a waiver, and if I do get it it will probably be end of April or even maybe later. Will I be sent the documents i need to return to navy after I get my appointment or will it be too late? is there a deadline for when I can get a waiver for USNA?

If and when you receive your waiver, your LOA will change to a Fully-Qualified Offer of Appointment.
You will have time to get the documents required in the Permit to Report (PTR) package. Just be sure if that day comes, to accept the offer immediately and get the ball rolling.

In the past (not suggesting that this will happen) candidates have received offers in the same month as I-Day. The paperwork will get processed, one way or another. Keep watching the CIS ("portal") for updates. :)

DD had a NASS detailer who received her offer just days before I-Day. So during in-processing, she had no paperwork and the people handing stuff out weren’t “expecting” her — so nothing with her name on it. Nonetheless, at the end of the day, she had all her gear, took the oath and was officially a plebe. That’s all that matters, right?

There are plenty of stories like this...but keep in mind, it is extremely rare and never a complete surprise. USNA says "most" will hear by April 15...others may get a waitlist notice, and be in limbo up until I Day. If someone is lucky enough to get that last minute acceptance, it will certainly create some anxiety and stress at I Day...but the Detailers will understand, and it will be a great discussion piece at Reunion years later.

I was in a similar situation I didn't get my wavier until late mid-April and didn't receive my full Appointment until April 29th. As long as you have an LOA you have a spot in the class. I didn't get the big envelope with all the paperwork until mid-May and its manageable as long as you set an afternoon aside to do it.

Did you have an LOA?

For the most part, if not 100%, if you are being processed for a medical waiver, for any Academy, and they waiver folks have your package without the applicant owing them anything, they WILL render a waiver decision, regardless of the deadline. :wiggle:

This is an incorrect statement ..it should be ..as long as you have an LOA and satisfy the conditions set forth in the LOA, you have a spot in the class. Admissions cannot waive the requirement for a Nomination, and doesn't have to give a medical waiver.
