Field of lost shoes.
Alleged historical movie depicting the conscription of VMI cadets in a Civil War battle. I have read both positive and negative reviews regarding attitudes of the cadets as the film depicts slavery and their views of it. Most argue that as plantation sons they would have had no sympathy toward slaves or their cause.
I would argue the opposite. In one generation, exposure to new things and the freedom to think for oneself opens doors. I was at once aghast and bawling through this one. I do think it was well done. And depicted more than one side of a horrifically complex coin.

I will watch. Lots of good actors.

Nolan Gould who plays the doofy kid Luke on Modern Family is a Mensa member.

It's a good movie -- a dramatization based on real events. Learn more about the Battle of New Market and the role of the VMI cadets here:

I've seen the movie a few times. It's good. More importantly I visited the battlefield and stood at the location where the guns they charged stood. There is no way to get to that position other than a frontal charge, uphill all the way. I was amazed they carried the position.
