Does anyone have any information about this major? It seems interesting but I can't find much in terms of what it's like.

My two cents, ask yourself when would you such skill sets (Defense and Strategic studies). If you are truly interested and stay in the Army, you will get "Defense and Strategic studies" matters as you progress in your military career.

Do you think what you learn at undergraduate level will make you an expert?

You have a full semester and some change before you declare a major. Go to the open houses and talk to upper class. Posters are right, if you remain in the military and attend career level schools you will be studying this exact sort of stuff. Major in what interests you and what you can do well in.

I figured since it's a military degree it's even better that it's from the most well known military academy. I will also go for a masters later on

Sweet! This is what I plan to do as well. I've been interested in military affairs since I was about 5, so I figure I would do a major I like and think is awesome.
