Just got deferred to RA this morning, I’m curious about how many others had the same outcome.

Same. Someone on another thread said their daughter was deferred, and they told her to work on her fitness score... Anyone else get anything like that?

My son was deferred to RA this morning. All they asked for was an updated HS transcript, and additional short personal statement.

I’ve heard EA applicants were up 24% from last year. So no doubt they had to defer more people. But that also means that more of those deferred applicants from EA will be appointed during RA.

I just posted this in another thread, but I'll repost here.

For all of you who were deferred, that means that USCGA considers you qualified and they like what they saw in your application. However, they can't accept ALL of the class of 2027 from EA, so they have to defer some people. They now want to compare all of you with the applicants in the regular pool.

Unless it has changed in the past 2 years, you can still send updates to your AO. If you have improved your PFE, let your AO know. If you have improved SAT/ACT, let your AO know. If you are doing great in academics this semester, let your AO know. New leadership position? Significant achievements in your sport? Let your AO know. If there is anything that can strengthen your application, you should keep your AO informed so they know you are still interested and working hard during your senior year.

Good luck to everyone who was deferred.
