I found out today that I am being deferred to RA. I plan on retaking the PFE, but aside from that, I don't know what else to do. Would it be bad to ask why I was deferred so I know how I can improve?

Hang in there and continue to stay in touch with your AO. Provide your AO with any updates that will improve your application -- final grades each quarter/semester, ACT/SAT scores, PFE results, etc.

My DS was deferred to RA last year and received a CGAS offer the final week of May. Just finished up his first semester and couldn't be happier with his fate.

Can I ask how you heard you were deferred to RA? Did you get an email or a letter in the mail?
DS received deferral to RA as well. He received an email last night notifying him that his decision letter was available on the portal. As suggested above, he has already reached out to AO to discuss the deferral decision.

Yes, that's how I received mine too.

I was deferred to RA as well. Does anyone have any idea of when we will know a decision in RA?

We will find out with the rest of RA applicants I believe, I do not know if we will find out before April 1st or on April 1st. Admissions stated that we have until January 15th to accept the deferral and February 1st to send any new information

My daughter was deferred from EA to RA last year. The timeline last year was April 1 for RA. She received a call in late March and was offered CGAS.

As someone who was in your same position last year. After accepting the deferral and reaching out to your AO, my top 2 pieces of advice would be:
  1. to get your backup plans in order by the end of this month
  2. then enjoy the rest of your senior year
That's all there is to it. Good luck!
