Hello. Our BGO recently told our DD they she is in a deferred status. Portal status is still "Complete Pending Review." Can anyone explain what deferred means? Appreciate the help.

"Complete Pending Review" doesn't mean anything other than that all required documents has been received. It won't say anything about the scholastic qualification, unless a candidate has an LOA (which means they are scholastically qualified). The status is only likely to change for LOAs, appointments, or turn downs.

USNABGO08, so I understand that if DS did not get a LOA, this means he is not scholastically qualified, is that correct? Just want some clarification please, thanks.

Not necessarily. You can be scholastically qualified without an LOA - I dare say the vast majority of applicants and most appointees don't have LOAs. Sorry for hijacking usnaBGO's question.

Exactly. My point was that if a candidate does not have an LOA, they will not know their scholastic qualification (i.e. "Complete Pending Review" won't change to Scholastically [Admissions Board] Qualified) unless a BGO spills the beans (which they shouldn't be doing).

Okay, hoping he had a better shot at NAPS or Foundation with being scholastically disqualified, too many variables to hope for!
