Delay in scholarship money?

No scholarship recipients in my cadet's battalion have received their money for this semester (Fall 2022). In the past, my cadet has received this before October 15th.

Cadet has spoken to HRA and was simply told paperwork was submitted to Cadet Command.

Is there a delay of payment to all scholarship cadets in all AROTC programs this fall? Is it unique to my cadet's battalion? If the latter, what, if any, steps should my cadet take (i.e. is there someone they should notify at Cadet Command?)

Note: This has NEVER been an issue before, same HRA in place as previous years. Cadet is a 3-YR recipient, current MSIV, on track to graduate and commission in May.
 
My cadet at VT's account has it credited on the October 17th statement. Don't know exactly when it was paid but before then.
 
I just checked text messages. DS account was credited around the 17th as well. DS is a Sophomore and this is his first time. He isn't at the host school and no one else is a National winner. So he wasn't sure if it was him or the HR person. I told him to stand on her desk for answers if needed. She explained it was a delay within CC.
 
Appreciate the replies. My cadet just told me it's showing (in some account they use where they can see this info) that they will be receiving payment on Nov 4. Fingers crossed. Like I said, never happened before and the delay is significant in that registration for spring semester opened yesterday (the 31st) and according to college policy, you can't register if your account is in arrears (i.e. you haven't paid for fall semester yet.)

DS college promised they wouldn't place a hold on his account. Then a week later placed a hold, because of the delay. It was undue stress for no reason. They know they are getting their money.


Is there a code the battalion while waiting on CC?

I got a couple of hold notices until Cadre sent a list of contracted students to bursars office. Now they don't really mind. I am not sure if ROTC has paid them yet or not. They did say once they acctg office has him on the list it is not such a big deal.
 
Our DS is a contracted Army ROTC at Citadel. His payment was late (not sure if they got it yet or not.) He was also placed on restricted hold (so ridiculous, as another stated, they Know they are getting their money). Citadel informed us they were charging Army /DoD a late fee, and that no one on scholarship had received funds yet. Absolutely ridiculous to put it mildly.
 
Thank you all for all your posts. Waiting to hear from my cadet on status. This is my cadet's last year and like I said, never been a problem and the main issue is the delay in being able to register for classes for NEXT semester (as it is my cadet's last semester and some classes are required and only offered in spring to graduate on time.) Cadet is at large university so classes fill up quickly. As stated earlier, cadet was eligible to register on Monday (Halloween) the first day registration opened but could not.

While it is a shame that this happened, at least it was not just my cadet or my cadet's battalion that was affected. Hopefully, cadet command will realize this was an issue system-wide and try to get the payments earlier so this does not happen to scholarship cadets in the future.
 
not my DS, but his best friend is AROTC and as of today no money has been received for Fall 2022 semester, he has had to pay out of pocket unfortunately. whats the hold up?
 
DS is on 4 year at University of Florida and his disbursement has not hit either, causing hold on his account. It’s been truly ridiculous dealing with finance and housing to explain this issue. Apparently Army shows it as disbursed but Bursars office has not received it. We are pushing to keep tabs but it seems the only solution to avoid late fees and holds is to prepay tuition for the semester. This is insane to have to do but we can’t think of another solution that would facilitate his ability to select his classes for his major. I will update as I have info.

Update…scholarship money hit his account on 11/4. UF also removed all holds and late fees. They have redeemed themselves 🤣.
