I just found a letter in a pile of mail from Senator Tillis's office notifying me that I was denied an interview by the panel, but the letter is dated a week before I received an LOA from USNA.

Would it be helpful to contact Senator Tillis's office and inform them of the LOA in hopes to receive an interview? It seems a bit unsettling that a nominating source has already denied me an interview even with an LOA.

It can't hurt to contact your senators office, inform them you have a LOA and ask if they would reconsider interviewing you. All they can do is say no. But, it may be a long shot. Each MOCs use their own criteria for determining nominations and that criteria my not align with the SA admission. As you know your congressman is where you should have your best shot at getting a nomination.
